Department of Mechanical, Biomedical & Manufacturing Engineering, Cork Institute of Technology
Project’s objectives:
The proposed project will develop a research collaboration on the design of an oscillating water column (OWC) prototype device and enhance the “learner-centered” education approach in engineering programs. Both aims are achieved through multiple objectives:
1. Further develop previous OWC models created by CIT using CFD software.
2. Conduct feasibility study and review of literature of wave climate in Vietnam.
3. Carryout a design analysis using the models developed in 1 with the data specified in 2.
4. Validate model findings using real tank testing in wave basin.
5. Using the models created in 1, develop “learner-centered” teaching strategy for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Project time frame:
November 2019 – November 2021
